240? or 350?

Post  s14 on Wed Nov 05, 2008 10:51 pm

let me start off by saying how much I love my 240sx and how great of a car it is, nissan did a killer job on this car. But, I also like the new 350Zs and I know my car isn't going to last much longer and I can't decide whether I want to put more money into my 240 or start investing in a 350z. Of course there's alot more to it than just what car do I prefer like insurance etc. I was just wondering what everyone else thinks.

240sx that I can fix up!!??
vs
350z I have to pay monthly for!!??

You know what Bryan, I went through this same situation.
You can see which route I went with.

*Personal opinion*
I would go with the 240, why? because You can invest all that money that you would put into the 350 into the 240 and have a much funner car to drive and not have to worry about car payments or the full coverage that you would need for a New 350.

Look at it this way,

350z goes for what? 25k? how much would you have to pay a month? how much is insurance?
When the car is paid for and all that good stuff you'll still have a stock car at the end.
with that money that you spent on it you could have a fully built 240 that can walk all over the stock Z.

240sx, you got yours for like 2800? paid for in full, you don't have to worry about car notes or voiding the warranty, insurance would be ALOT cheaper. And you can do as you please with it.

Not to mention that not every one has a 240.

These were some of the factors that I looked at that made me choose my S14 over the 350.

You still want to drift right? Do some suspension work and some power adders.

he does have a point on the payments and shit on the 350...BUT think about this...you break a rim by hitting a curb you can just tell them someone ran you off the road and WALAH! new rim...THANK YOU...or if you have an intake on the car and its nismo installed by them(even though it would cost an arm and a leg) and you sucked up water and blew the engine....your not voiding the warranty so time for a new engine for im guessing almost no cost

No sir. They will only replace the wheel if it failed on its own, Not cause of some one ran you off the road.( its not part of the warranty if you caused the damage, Only manufacture defects.)
Insurance might cover it, but your payments will sky rocket afterwards

Intake: the Nismo intake is only a short ram, for that very reason you stated. so that's not going to happen.

anything else, Justin?
lol

You can find a 350 for around $17,000. I paid $17,500 for mine. And plus the 350 has sooo much more sex appeal. But to see a fixed up ass turbo 240 is nice as well.
